Today’s I am statement is “I am chosen!” My friend, you are chosen by God! He has hand picked you for specific assignments to be carried out on the earth for His glory! And the cool part is, only you can complete these assignments that the Lord gives you because they are unique to your gifts, abilities and personality.
Think about this for a moment, there is only one of you in the entire world; not even identical twins are exactly the same. You are made in the image of God, set apart and chosen to further the kingdom of God on earth, and fulfill your divine purpose in life.
If you were ever that kid in school that never got picked to join the cheer team or the choir— these are just a couple of examples but it could literally be anything, that just made you feel unpicked; please know that I understand. But, God understands even more and yet He chose you and continues to choose you every single day!
If you have struggled with the lies that you are not worthy to be chosen because of childhood trauma or even things that have crept into your adulthood, the more that you focus on this truth that you are chosen, found in 1 Peter 2:9, the more those insecurities will melt away.
You can build your faith in this truth and walk in confidence knowing and believing that you are indeed chosen by God! The more that you feed, meditate and confess this truth over your life, the more that it will become a foundational truth about who you are in Christ. You will see the difference in yourself, it will become a part of your identity; knowing that you are chosen by the One that created you and loves you most.
I encourage you to meditate on this truth tonight (and every night) as you go to bed or wake up in the morning and spend some time in front of the mirror and thank God, that you are chosen!
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
1 Peter 2:9 ESV
